FREDERICK, MD – December 15, 2021: The Johnson STEM Education Fund has been established with The Community Foundation of Frederick County and becomes one of its more than 750 component charitable funds.
Drs. Patrick and Virginia Johnson created this fund to support Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs and experiential learning opportunities. Having enjoyed careers in the sciences, the Johnsons believe it is vital to make STEM programs available to students now and in future generations.
The fund will help support costs for organizations providing STEM programming in Frederick County. Organizations can apply for grants from this fund during The Community Foundation’s Impact grant cycle from Aug. 15 – Sept. 15.
