Honoring a life dedicated to farming, The Michael J. Wilcom Agricultural Scholarship Fund was established by Michael Wilcom’s wife, Evelyn. Mr. Wilcom was a lifelong dairy farmer and participated in and held offices in many organizations such as the Maryland Farm Bureau, where he served as vice-president; the Frederick County Farm Bureau, where he served as president, and the Farm Service Advisory Committee, where he served as committee chairman. In addition, he was an active member of the New Market Lions Club. “It is my hope that the scholarship will help students interested in a career in agricultural be successful and love the work as much as my husband did,” said Mrs. Wilcom.
