Peter Brehm’s Selfless Commitment to his Community

Peter Brehm has been an active volunteer in the Frederick area for many years, supporting organizations and their activities relating to the arts, local festivals, the environment, community and neighborhood development, and social issues. He received a 2015 Wertheimer Fellow for Excellence in Volunteerism Award from The Community Foundation of Frederick County. Our 2021 Wertheimer Fellow and Youth in Action Award nominations are open through May 31. Mr. Brehm’s story should inspire our community to nominate similar volunteers this year.

Jeanie Cronin’s Inspiration to Give Back to Her Community

Jeanie Cronin has been tireless with her efforts in advocating for and providing services to immigrant populations in Frederick. She received a 2010 Wertheimer Fellow for Excellence in Volunteerism Award from The Community Foundation of Frederick County. Our 2021 Wertheimer Fellow and Youth in Action Award nominations are open throughout the month of May, and I would like to take the time to share Ms. Cronin’s story with the hope that it will inspire our community to nominate similar volunteers this year.

Scholarship Fund in Dawn Renee Smith’s Memory Helps Students Pursue Education in Marketing

Dawn Renee Smith was a student who excelled at marketing. She was active in community service projects, and her kindness and goodwill toward others was experienced by everyone she met. A scholarship fund in her memory at The Community Foundation of Frederick County helps students who exhibit qualities and interests similar to hers pursue their post-secondary educational goals and career aspirations.
