For Parker Rohrbaugh, earning an academic scholarship was more than just a way to pay for college, it also affirmed that the 2013 Catoctin graduate was on the right path. “As a first-generation college student, it was very special and reaffirming that I was on a path to success.”
Parker received a scholarship from The Frank M. and Helen Elizabeth Erwin Scholarship Fund that alleviated the financial burden and reduced the stress associated with pursuing his undergraduate degree. Parker studied nursing at Pennsylvania State University.
Parker says a decade ago he couldn’t have imagined where he’d be now. He is a pediatric nurse practitioner in acute care at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. He says he is grateful for the opportunities and support he has received and that he cherishes the relationships he’s developed in his professional community. With unwavering determination and a deep sense of purpose, Parker continues to pursue his path in pediatrics, aiming to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young patients and their families.
