In 2015 Ariana Sadoughi graduated from Urbana High School’s esteemed International Baccalaureate Academy. She says that her family’s financial resources and the initial aid package she received fell short of what was required to make Georgetown University a reality. But then, everything took a transformative turn for the better when she learned that she received a scholarship from The W. Meredith S. Young and Helen B. Young Scholarship Fund.
“The Community Foundation’s generosity did not just make it possible for me to attend my ‘dream’ university, but it allowed me to explore personal and professional development that might otherwise not have been accessible to me.” Ariana proudly graduated in 2019 from the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University where she studied Global Business and Spanish.
Fast forward to the present where Ariana finds herself in the heart of the financial world. She’s found balance with the noise, intensity, and excitement of Wall Street all while volunteering as a member of the associate board of directors for Read Alliance, a nonprofit in New York City focused on tackling both teenage underemployment and early elementary literacy. Ariana says she continues to focus on nurturing her leadership potential.
