FREDERICK, MD – September 12, 2019: To lower barriers to post-secondary education, a coalition of local organizations known as the Frederick County FAFSA Coalition announces eight workshops to assist students in completing the FAFSA form. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is the first step in accessing a variety of scholarships and federal funding. Financial aid experts will be present to answer questions. FAFSA Finish events for 2019 are scheduled for October 7, Catoctin High School, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; October 12, Frederick Community College, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.; October 15, Hood College, from 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.; October 16, Brunswick High School, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; October 17, Frederick High School, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; October 21, Oakdale High School, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.; October 24, Walkersville High School, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and October 29, Governor Thomas Johnson High School, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The FAFSA Coalition includes Frederick Community College, Frederick County Public Schools, Hood College, Mount St. Mary’s University, The Housing Authority of the City of Frederick, United Way of Frederick County, and The Community Foundation of Frederick County.
