Christopher W. Ausherman was born on March 23, 1976, the son of Marvin E. Ausherman and Nancy Ramsburg O’Brien (formerly Ausherman). Raised in Frederick, he graduated from Governor Thomas Johnson High School in 1994. At the completion of his fourth year at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado, Christopher was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident in June 1998. He had just started his own business called Ausherman Custom Contracting. In memory of his dream of becoming a builder, Christopher’s family established The Christopher W. Ausherman Scholarship Fund. The fund awards scholarships to students in Frederick County and those students pursuing a career in construction management or related fields.
Founded by his family with memorial contributions.
Ernest W. Ausherman was a well-known land and community developer in the Frederick area. He established Ausherman Construction Company in 1951, and Ausherman Homes stood as one of Frederick County’s most respected builders. Mr. Ausherman was a founding member, past president and life director of the Frederick County Builders Association. He also served on the Frederick County Planning Commission and volunteered on the boards of the Frederick YMCA and Fredericktown Bank. In honor of Mr. Ausherman’s service to Frederick County as a business leader and volunteer, his family established The Ernest W. Ausherman Scholarship Fund with memorial contributions. To continue the tradition of giving Mr. Ausherman exemplified during his life, The Ernest W. Ausherman Scholarship Fund awards scholarships to Frederick County residents in his memory.
