Youth Music Scholarships Available

Two Community Foundation funds provide scholarships to local students who want to further develop their music skills.

FREDERICK, MD – Jan. 1, 2025: Scholarships for Frederick County students to help pay for instrumental or vocal music instruction in a group or individualized setting are available to students in kindergarten through grade 12. The scholarships are funded by The Sperry L. Storm Memorial Scholarship Fund and The Guss Family Scholarship Fund for the Arts, two of more than 815 component funds of The Community Foundation of Frederick County.

These scholarships were created to promote music performance within the Frederick County community and aim to support students who are passionate about music and are interested in further developing their skills. Scholarships will be based on financial need and depending on the scholarship fund, can be used to pay for tuition, lessons, classes and materials to study music. Payment will be made directly to the instructor or organization and/or as a reimbursement to the parent/guardian with proof of payment. The application is open through Jan. 31, 2025.
