FREDERICK, MD – Mar. 15, 2024: David and Norma Miller created The David and Norma Miller Scholarship Fund with The Community Foundation of Frederick County to support graduates of Middletown High School or Frederick High School pursuing a career in nursing or agricultural education.
For more than 50 years, David has been engaged in a variety of areas of agricultural education, beginning as a student member of Future Farmers of America (FFA). After earning a degree in agricultural education from University of Maryland, he went on to teach high school, serve as a leader and advisor with FFA, and eventually retired from Frederick County Public Schools as the Assistant Superintendent for Career and Technology Education. Norma graduated from Frederick High School and received a nursing degree from Frederick Memorial Health School of Nursing. As a dedicated registered nurse, Norma compassionately cared for patients throughout her career.
“The need for people to work in agricultural education and nursing is very much in demand,” the Millers said. “We are happy to help the next generation prepare for and enjoy successful careers in these fields as we have.”
