FREDERICK, MD – April 30, 2024: Janet and Timothy Dinterman created The Jim and Jane Bopst Memorial Fund with The Community Foundation of Frederick County to provide needed supplies, trainings, and equipment to Junior Fire Company No. 2.
The Dintermans created the fund as a tribute to family members Uncle Jim and Aunt Jane to continue their legacy of lifelong support to the community and fire companies. Jim was a career firefighter with Junior Fire Company No. 2 as well as a volunteer with over 68 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion, AmVets, and Moose Lodge. Jane was the president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Junior Fire Co. No. 2 for 34 years. She also volunteered at Citizens and Montevue Nursing Homes. In 2018, Jim and Jane were inducted into the Frederick Fire & Rescue Hall of Fame. The Bopst’s commitment to the local fire company and dedication to volunteerism exemplify the true spirit of community service and selflessness.
