FREDERICK, MD – Dec. 22, 2023: Local nonprofits that provide direct benefits to Frederick County residents are encouraged to apply for grants from The Frederick Mutual Insurance Company Donor Advised Fund at The Community Foundation of Frederick County during the month of January.
Frederick Mutual Insurance Company established this fund in 1994 with a $150,000 contribution as part of the company’s 150th anniversary celebration with the purpose of providing financial support for the Frederick County community. Since its inception, the fund has awarded more than $221,000 in grants to local nonprofits.
“Frederick Mutual Insurance Company sincerely looks forward to the Community Foundation’s yearly grant cycle,” said Nancy Newmister, president and CEO at Frederick Mutual. “It provides Frederick Mutual an opportunity to go where the need is greatest both within the Frederick community and regionally. Providing strong resources and support to nonprofit organizations enables a ministry of care, which Frederick Mutual strives to promote from both an employee and business perspective.”
Applications will be accepted for programs and services for nonprofits working in the fields of human services, education, and historic research. Applicants must identify the specific impact that their organization will have on Frederick County. Beginning Jan. 1, applicants can access the online application at www.FrederickCountyGives.org/grants. The application closes on Jan. 31.
